Vito “Vee” Vitone
10/5/1946 - 06/02/2022
Vito “Vee” Vitone 75, of Chicago, IL and East Greenwich, RI passed away peacefully on June
2nd, 2022. Vito was born on October 5, 1946 in Capurso, Italy. He immigrated to America on
the Cristoforo Columbo in 1957 through Ellis Island. He and his family settled in Elmwood Park,
IL.
He was united in marriage to Linda Tenerelli on April 22, 1972. His passion was spending time
with his family, both the family he came from and the family he created with Linda. He was a
loving and involved father. He lived an active lifestyle and shared that with all of his kids. He
enjoyed coaching soccer, playing tennis, cycling, running, and skiing. Vito always tried to share
his positive outlook and zest for life with those around him. It was his enthusiasm for living that
helped him persevere over his physical disabilities later in life. He filled the hearts of those who
loved him with lots of laughter.
Vito worked for Metropolitan Life for 26 years and John Hancock Financial Services for 10
years. He was an active member of his community through Saint Francis De Sales Catholic
Church, Madonna del Pozzo Society and East Greenwich Rotary Club. He retired in Rhode
Island and spent as much time as possible with his family. He will be deeply missed by the lives
he brightened, but we are rejoicing in his Eternal Salvation.
He is predeceased by his parents Nicola and Angela (DiFronzo) Vitone, his brothers Giacomo
‘Jack’ and Gaetano ‘Guy’ Vitone. He is survived by his sisters Anna Carbonara and Gina
LaGioia, “the Joyful 4”, his loving children Nick Vitone, Noelle (Michael) Seelen, Anthony
(Heather) Vitone and Michael (Felicia) Vitone, his grandchildren Anthony, Joseph, Michael,
Arianna, Christopher, Luca, Eliana, and a grandson on the way.
Visitation will be held at 9:15 at Saint Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E Central Rd, Mt. Prospect,
IL 60056 on Saturday June 25th. Mass of Christian Burial and interment will follow.
