Timothy Edward Hersch

Timothy Edward Hersch, 80, passed away peacefully in his home in Johnstown, CO on March 9, 2023

surrounded by loving family and friends. Tim was born in Cheyenne, WY on January 1, 1943 to Harry

Herman Hersch and Ruth Miriam Rothman Hersch. He attended school in Windsor, Severance and Fort

Collins, Colorado and spent most of his life in northern Colorado.

Tim was a sheet metal worker, spending the last 28 years of his long career with US Engineering

Company in Loveland. He was very proud of his accomplishments, especially his contributions on many

projects including building Medical Center of the Rockies and expansions to Poudre Valley Hospital. He

was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 9 and this year was honored for 50 years of service

in the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers Union.

Tim had a grand sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye. He was quiet, kind and a generous husband,

father and grandpa. He deeply loved his family, including many special cousins, aunts and uncles. Tim

also loved his friends and adored dogs Katrina and Misty, spending happy hours in their company.

Several dearly loved fur babies are now with him again. He took great pleasure seeing his children and

grandchildren grow up to become happy and accomplished adults. Tim loved animals and nature, his

442 convertible, car shows, rock and roll and the oldies. He was happiest when watching the Denver

Broncos with family, exploring the desert, Southern Utah and Lake Powell. He loved spending winters in

warm places, watching Nascar races, discovering new places to explore and camping with his family and

friends. Tim had recently discovered a new pastime, happy hour axe throwing.

He married Virginia Hersch (Ginny) on New Year’s Eve in 1977. They joyfully celebrated their 45th

wedding anniversary New Year’s Eve. He is survived by Ginny, children Ed (Dana), Teddy, Sharri

Muchow (Casey) and Rachelle Hersch(Greg Ochs), his sisters Sharee Mannon (Dale) and Kathie

Thompson; 8 beloved grandchildren, spouses and partners Josh Muchow (Ashley), Justin Hersch

(Katelyn), Anthony Aragon (Bethany), Zachary Muchow, Stephanie Muchow (Leonard), Rheanna Will

(Brandon), Jourdan and Taylor Hersch; and great grandchildren, including one on the way. Tim is also

survived by brother and sister-in-law John and Wendy Ellwood, sisters-in-law Natalie Ellwood (Hank) and

Cathy Hersch; his former wife Maryland Hersch; and nephews Tim Mannon (Jennifer), David and Derek

Hersch and niece Nickol Hersch, and many great nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Gene Charles Hersch, son Freddy, brother-in-law

Hank Ellwood and niece Michelle Mannon.
