Shannon Douglas Ziel, 50, of Greeley, passed away June 17, 2021. He was born January 5, 1971, to Glenna (Tucker) McLean and Helmut Ziel in Greeley.
Shannon was a person with a big heart and loved others. He was also a troubled person with mental illness issues and substance abuse problems. He loved animals and music.
He is survived his mother, Glenna McLean; stepfather Tom Forkel and stepbrother Allen Forkel; grandmother Pauline Tucker Anderson; uncles Charles (Gwen) Tucker; cousins Grant (Jenna) and son, Tucker & Kelli (L.J) Pleasant and sons.
He is also survived by his father, Helmut Ziel and family; uncles John (Hilde), Arthur (Vivian) Reinhold (Twila) Ziel; aunt Rose Hartshorn; and several cousins.
He preceded in death by his stepfather Randy McLean; grandfather Glen Tucker; grandparents Fred and Gertrude Ziel; and cousins Jeremy Hartshorn and Ryan Ziel; and his life partner Heather Krueger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Weld County Victims Advocates in care of Marks Funeral & Cremation Service, 9293 Eastman Park Dr., Windsor, CO 80550.
