Roberta “Bobbie” Rivera – September 12, 1951 – May 31, 2023

It is with deep sadness that the family of Roberta “Bobbie” Rivera announces her passing at the age of 71, surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023.

Bobbie was born in Fort Collins, Colorado to Juanita Gonzales. She lived in California before moving back to Colorado in 1967. Bobbie started a lasting love affair when she met Louis “Lou” Rivera at Poudre High School. They were married January 10, 1970 and together raised their two children, Jalaine and Brian.

Bobbie and Lou spent the past 53 years calling Northern Colorado home; they began in Loveland and moved to Greeley, where they were active members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Thirty-two years ago they moved to Windsor and became members of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Bobbie and Lou's adventurous nature was reflected in their numerous travels, including trips on Lou’s motorcycle and trips to Disneyland, San Diego, South Dakota, Yellowstone, Rome, Naples, Capri, Venice, Paris, Germany, and Croatia, among others.

Bobbie had an illustrious career in human resources, starting with Eastman Kodak Company, where she was employed for more than 20 years. She was also employed at American Ag Credit Company, Dairy Farmers of America, and, most recently, Ad Con in Fort Collins as human resources manager.

Bobbie enjoyed the beach as her favorite place to recharge and was known for her beautiful smile, her witty sense of humor, and her strong sense of shopping. Most of all, Bobbie was devoted to her family, taking immense pride in her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her siblings, and in-laws.

Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Lou Rivera; daughter Jalaine Marcott; grandson Hunter Rivera; son Brian Rivera (Allison); granddaughters Camille “Cali” and Carmen; brother James “Jim” Knapp (Debbie); brother Jerry Knapp (Theresa); brother-in-law Tim Rivera; sister-in-law Mary Rivera-St Claire (Doug); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lowell Knapp and Juanita Knapp-Boggs; her grandparents Joe and Mary Gonzales; her mother-in-law and father-in-law John and Barbara Rivera; and her son-in-law Andrew “AJ” Marcott.

The family of Bobbie Rivera wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
