Tillie L. Bryan

Otilia “Tillie” (Alvarado) Bryan, 90, of Windsor, passed away December 2, 2018, in Greeley, CO.
She was born March 3, 1928, in Ottawa, Ill. To Agapito “Pete” and Catalina (Rosales) Alvarado.
Tillie graduated from Ottawa High School and Aims Community College.
She married William J. Bryan in Ottawa, Il in November 17, 1951. They lived in Chicago, Northern Illinois, and Ottawa, Il until 1979.
She worked for National Biscuit in Marseilles, Illinois immediately after high school. Tillie also worked at the Agricultural Extension Office of Illinois as a nutrition educator. She volunteered in Windsor School District RE-4 in the after school program teaching ESL students the English language. Tillie immediately joined Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church after moving to Windsor in 1979. She was a very active member. She was a member of the OLV “Love to Stitch” club; one of her favorite social activities. During her education at Aims Community College she discovered her love of writing and wrote several poems and an autobiography. She was a member of Senior Steppers with Windsor’s Senior Recreation Program. They performed throughout Northern Colorado entertaining and sharing their love of line dancing at Assisted Living and Nursing Home Facilities. She continued her love of dancing by participating in Northern Colorado’s Polka circuit.
Tillie is survived by her children Debra (Mark) Gustafson of Ft. Myers, Fla., Lori (Dario) Ayala of Naperville, Ill., Maureen Hay of Fife, Wash., Janie (Jim Conklin) Eichorn of Greeley, Rhonda (Shane) Fokken of Windsor; siblings Connie Sulivan of Joliet, Ill., Bea McGovern of Plainfield, Ill., and Rita DeLaPena of Chicago.; nine grandchildren, Raechel (Clay) Drake, Clint (Cari) Davis, Bryanna Kolesar, Jamey Barr, Shannon (Scott) Martin, Danny Marin, Chas Eichorn, Bryan (Courtney) Eichorn and Sophia Fokken; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters Paula Rodriguez and Felicitas Vargas, and brothers Rogelio Alvarado, Edward Alvarado, half-sisters; Mary Cabrera, Carmen Arellano and half-brother Joseph Alvarado.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at Marks Chapel, 9293 Eastman Park Dr., Windsor. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at noon, Friday, Dec. 7 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1250 7th St., Windsor with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church Building Fund.
