In Loving Memory of Michael Edward (Brown) Barrington (April 21, 1964- February 26, 2024)

Michael (Mike) Edward (Brown) Barrington of Windsor, Colorado, passed away on February 26, 2024. Michael was born on April 21, 1964, to Charles and Vinita Brown. His most cherished childhood memories came from the time he helped on his grandfather’s ranch near Folsom, NM. It was there that he acquired his work ethic and learned many valuable skills in construction that served him well all his life. Helping his mother raise chickens and pigs, plus cooking dinners, built his character further. He spent his school years at Des Moines Schools and graduated in May 1982.

After high school, Mike married his classmate, Lisa, who he was with for 17 years. He worked for the City of Longmont as a Utilities/Maintenance Tech (Level III) for nine years, operating many types of heavy equipment. He held a Class A license with tanker/HASMAT endorsements and was able to haul triple and double trailers.  Driving was one of his passions.

In 2006, Mike started work for Best Buy as a Home Theater installer, which included installing  and troubleshooting televisions, sound systems, and security systems in the Denver area. He was especially good at handling technical support calls from customers. He worked there for 13 years.

The year 2018 found Mike living in Windsor, where he met his neighbor one summer morning and fell in love with her. Mike and Teresa were married on August 15, 2019. Teresa had resolved not to change her last name again, so Mike changed his to match hers. Mike became the “go-to” guy at the church she pastored, knowing the building and processes inside and out. It was there that Mike committed his life to Jesus and was baptized in April of 2020. After being laid off by Best Buy because of the COVID year, Mike ran his own lawn and sprinkler business, consistently serving many people in the community – spring, summer, and fall – for three years. Chronic pain and stress took its toll over time, as did his struggle with alcoholism. On February 26, 2024, Mike stepped off the earth into eternity.

Mike will be remembered by many for his kind heart, his excellent construction skills, and his willingness to help anyone at any time.

Mike is survived by his wife Teresa Barrington of Windsor, CO; his father, Charles Brown (Roberta) of Trinidad, CO; his mother, Vinita Brown of Folsom, NM; two sisters, Sally Brown (Larry Sandoval) of Raton, NM; and Cristy Brown (Michael Spink) of Pueblo, CO; a half-brother, Brian Brown of Trinidad, CO; half-sister, Megan Wilson (Jeremy) of Trinidad, CO; step-sister, Bonnie Monteleone of Seattle, WA; several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, two nieces and one nephew.
