Our most amazing, loving and fun Wife/Mom/Nana, Marilyn Alice Lee Goad, went home to be with our Lord on June 2, 2025. She was born August 23, 1936 to Alice Marie Dockus Lee and Charles Everett Lee in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Proviso Township High School, Maywood, Illinois class of 1954. She attended Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois majoring in Journalism and Southern Utah State University, Cedar City, Utah. She was a 50-year member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Marilyn married John Andrew Goad, Sr. on December 29, 1956 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Maywood, Illinois.
Marilyn was extraordinarily blessed with two amazing children; John Andrew Goad, Jr. (Michelle) and Lynn Goad Vering (Walter). She was extra blessed with four grandchildren; Ben Vering (Mallory), Jack Vering, Grace Goad Leffler (Sam) and Sam Goad. While the children were at home, Marilyn managed the household. Later she worked for the Poudre Valley Hospital Pathology Lab as a medical transcriptionist in Ft. Collins, Colorado for 18 years. She and John were active in the Redeemer Lutheran Church Comfort Dog Ministry for years and the people and dogs were very special to her. The most important things in Marilyn’s life were God, her family and numerous special friends.
Marilyn is survived by her family as listed and a beloved cousin, John Dockus.
