Lloyd Clarence Schwalm

December 7, 1932 — February 6, 2023

Johnstown

Lloyd Clarence Schwalm was born December 7, 1932, in Milliken CO to C.E. and Molly Schwalm. Lloyd started farming with his family west of Johnstown at a very young age, where he acquired his love of farming and the nickname “Boomer” to all who were close to him. He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1951 and then served two years in the Army. Lloyd met the love of his life, Shirley Lanham, while attending the EUB church and they were married there on August 1, 1954. They started farming in 1960, south of Windsor, Colorado. For several years he was in the Great Western Sugar Beet High Ten, where Lloyd was recognized for having one of the top ten best sugar beet crops in the county. His pride in straight rows drew quite the admiration from everyone that passed by. Today’s farmers have the luxury of GPS, his family farm had the luxury of DAD. Lloyd’s passion and knowledge of farming has been passed on to everyone that knew him and worked for him. He could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a room full of friends. His tailgate was always down for coffee, sweets and conversations. In the days leading up to his final trip home, he was surrounded by friends and family. He spoke of his excitement to once again play trucks and tractors with Kody. He joined his great grandson Kody in Heaven on February 5th, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley, a son Randy Schwalm (Beth) of Windsor CO, daughters Bonnie Tiffany (Dave) of Omaha NE, Sherri Schwalm of Denver, granddaughter Brooke Schmidt (Tyler) of Vale, South Dakota, grandson Ben Tiffany (Kerry) of Omaha NE and 5 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Water Valley Pelican Lakes Banquet Room, 1620 Pelican Lakes Point in Windsor, CO 80550, on Saturday February 11th, 2023 from 11 am – 2pm. A light lunch will be served. No gifts or money is requested, your presence, stories and sharing of memories is your gift to us.
