Kurt Franklin Mitchell, 66, of Windsor, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 1, 2026. A celebration of life service will be held on May 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Drift-In.
Born in Denver on October 15, 1959, Kurt was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and remarkable memory. He could recall just about any story and loved reminiscing with those he cared about most. He will be remembered for his love of sports, especially watching his boys coach and play, as well as for his humility, wisdom, and quiet intelligence.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Beth; his sons, Joey and Jimmy; his future daughter-in-law, Chloe; and his four siblings, Lori, Jean, Mark, and Valerie, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen; his father, Frank; and his nephew, Luke.
Kurt leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and strength that his family will carry forward. Through his example, he taught his sons the value of hard work, dedication, humor, and showing up for the people you love.
Friends and family are invited to Drift-In, located at Independent Whitewater, 10830 County Road 165, Salida on May 13, 2026 at 2pm.
