Obituary of Kenneth Lyle "Kenny" Felte

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Kenneth Lyle Felte, better known as Kenny, who departed this life on March 1, 2026.

Kenny was born on December 9, 1944, in Greeley, Colorado, to Francis “Ruth” Greenwalt and Henry Felte. He spent his entire life rooted along Weld County Road 23 in the Severance–Windsor area, a place he proudly called home.

Kenny attended Windsor High School playing football and was a FFA participant. After graduating in 1962 Kenny began farming and served his Country in the Air National Guard. In 1965 Kenny married Barbara Gunter (Fisher) and together had 3 daughters: Kristi Gunter, Amy Duff (Ed), and Jennifer Quevedo (Rick).

Later in life, Kenny was blessed with two bonus daughters, Erin Babcock (Jody) and Lindsay Kuntz (John) they bonded over their shared passion for FFA and agriculture.

In his later years, Kenny found wonderful companionship with Sheri Cossette Waring. Together, they created many fulfilling memories including the annual New Year’s PBR, visiting their grandchildren, traveling and attending numerous events. Showing him the importance of enjoying everything that life has to offer.

Kenny was a man of tireless work ethic, most likely to be found working on a farm, be it his own or helping one of his beloved friends with theirs, hauling in his 18-wheeler, always knowing “what you otta do” and even sometimes caught enjoying the simple pleasure of taking his beloved dogs, Missy and Buddy, for rides around town.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Henry; his sister, Caryolyn “Cookie” Adams; his brother, Lauren Felte; his son-in-law, Edward Duff; and his granddaughter, Cassandra Mercer (Standen).

Kenny is survived by all his girls Kristi, Amy, Jennifer, Lindsay, Erin and the cherished grandchildren they gave him: Austin Felte (Santana); Shawn Archuleta (Skylar); Shayne Duff; Roberto Quevedo; Samuel Quevedo (Precious); Kacie Yocum (Briely); Monte Babcock; John Kuntz and Jasmyn Shrouder (Garrett) who also blessed him with 11 great grandchildren as well. He also is survived by several nieces, nephews and honorary grandchildren.

On Saturday March 28th at 2pm we will gather to spread Kenny’s ashes at the Knievel Farm followed by a gathering at Bruce’s Bar in Severance to share a few stories to honor and celebrate Kenny’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to FFA in his memory.
