A Life Full of Love and Service

Janice “Janie” Lawson, born on June 10, 1933, in Central City, Nebraska, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

Janie moved with her family to Colorado during her childhood. She ventured out on her own in Denver at a young age, demonstrating remarkable resilience and ambition. Through hard work and perseverance, she rose to become the Head Cashier for the State of Colorado.

Janie was the beloved mother of three children: Linda Goff, Scott Goff, and Steve (Kathy) Lawson. In 1998, she relocated to Windsor to assist in caring for her cherished grandchildren, Cayelyn (Gilbert) Martinez and Koree Goff. Her family continued to grow, and she is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

A devout Christian, Janie found her spiritual home at Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor, where she was an active and devoted member. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and comfort.

Janie's passion for service extended beyond her church. She was an enthusiastic member of the Windsor Lions Club, where she formed lasting friendships and embraced numerous opportunities to serve her community. Her sense of humor and caring personality were well-known and appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Janie had a special place in her heart for dogs and adopted many throughout her life. Her most recent furry companion was Daisy, a one-eyed poodle from Big Bones Canine Rescue in Windsor. In honor of Janie’s love for animals, her family requests donations to Big Bones Canine Rescue in lieu of flowers. It is a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much love and care to both people and animals alike.

Janice “Janie” Lawson will be remembered for her unwavering faith, dedication to her family, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and humor. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend. We can take comfort in knowing that there will surely be a pack of dogs waiting to greet her in heaven.

May she rest in peace.
