Jaquelyn “Jackie” Wiggins died February 9, 2026, at Medical Center of the Rockies with her husband and daughters by her side.
Jackie was born in Atlanta, Nebraska to Floyd and Doris (Erickson) Johnson on February 3, 1954. Jackie was the middle child of 5. Jackie was a graduate of Hastings High School and at 18, moved with her parents and younger siblings to Fort Collins, Colorado. She attended Colorado State University and later went to nursing school. She was a nurse (LPN) for 30 years working in Fort Collins and Windsor. She retired from nursing to care for her aging parents.
Jackie found the match to her set in her husband Glenn Wiggins. They were married on June 2, 1984. She was a proud mom of her two wonderful children, Mary and Kristan. Jackie had a giant extended family. She loved being Aunt Jackie showering affection and advice on her nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. She loved staying connected to loved ones through her many phone calls.
Her deep appreciation of reading led to her opening the used bookstore Books-N-Things with her sister Renee in downtown Windsor. In the age before Amazon, Jackie had the great idea to serve the community by selling school supplies in the store. Books-N-Things closed in 2006, but Jackie always had dreams of opening it again in some fashion.
Besides being a veracious reader, Jackie loved bowling eventually becoming quite the Wii bowling champion after her health issues made it difficult for her to do the real thing. Jackie loved animals, holding babies, and watching sports. Jackie was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, and served on the foundation and altar guild.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Floyd, and Doris Johnson, her in laws, Harry and Evelyn Wiggins, brother-in-Law Charles Stine, niece Dian Radloff, and best friend Sharron Florea.
She is survived by her devoted husband of Glenn. Her daughters, Mary, and Kristan. Her beloved dog Shadow. Siblings Barbara Stine, Renee Johnson, Ron Johnson, and Ken Johnson. In-Laws Bob and Barb Wiggins, Janie Johnson, and Val along with her nieces, step nephew, and their families and her numerous cousins and friends.
In her honor, the family suggests you take time to find a cozy spot and curl up with a good book.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Windsor-Severance food pantry or your local food bank of choice.
