Hubert Lee Schwarzer, 87, of San Antonio, TX, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, in the presence of loved ones. 
 
Hubert Schwarzer was born on July 16, 1936, to Violet Pulliam Schwarzer and Hubert Schwarzer in Austin, TX. He moved to San Antonio, TX at age 2 and graduated from Brackenridge High School and San Antonio College. Hubert and Emma Louise Itz were married in Stonewall, TX in December of 1965. They resided in San Antonio, TX until 2022 when they moved to Windsor, CO to be close to family.
 
Hubert was a veteran honored for his service to his country in the Naval and Air Force Reserves. He was a skilled aircraft mechanic and served many years in Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. After his retirement, he continued his career in the private aviation industry and was also self-employed. Hubert was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time in the Texas hill country. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things and had a knack for all things mechanical. Hubert served many roles on his church councils at both Shepherd King Lutheran Church and House of Prayer Lutheran Church. He loved big adventures and traveling. Hubert enjoyed planning memorable trips for his family and friends. Hubert was known for his culinary creations, especially his smoked brisket.  He loved to feed people and make his friends and family smile and laugh. His family will miss his sense of humor and the sound of his laughter. 
 
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Billie Kay Wildenstein and Beverly Ann Zaiontz, sisters-in-law Kay Itz and Marilyn Batson, and brothers-in-law Bill Batson and Herbert Itz. He is survived by his wife Emma, daughters Tiffany Daley and Crystal Erskine, sons-in-law Mark Daley and Jeff Erskine, grandchildren Daniel Daley, David Daley, Anna Erskine, and Harlan Erskine, sister Gale Smithson, sister-in-law Vera Itz, brother-in-law Milton Zaiontz, and many beloved nieces and nephews. 
 
A memorial service for Hubert will be held at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in San Antonio, TX on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Hubert will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in a private ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Disabled American Veterans or House of Prayer Lutheran Church at 10226 Ironside Road, San Antonio, TX 78230.
