Helga I Peiler

June 1, 1925 — March 9, 2023

Windsor

Helga-Ingrid Peiler (nee Hoffmann) was born in Oranienburg, suburb of Berlin, Germany, to

Rudolph and Erna Hoffmann on June 1, 1925. She married Carl Peiler August 11, 1945, in Verden an der Aller. Their two daughters, Gabriele and Christine, were born in Bremen, Germany.

The family emigrated from Germany in 1951 to London, Ontario, Canada, where they lived until 1958. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio, residing there until 1978. After the children married, Carl and Helga moved to Sanford, North Carolina, where they spent their retirement years. It was after her husband's death that Helga moved to Windsor, Colorado.

Helga earned her Bachelor's Degree from Baldwin Wallace University (Cleveland area) and then her Master's from NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her Master's was in psychology and sociology. She worked in industry in Human Resources.

Helga was highly creative. She was blessed with an incredible talent for art. It was her passion. While living in North Carolina, she was active in art circles, entered juried shows, won awards and sold many, many paintings. She continued with her art, even into her late nineties.

Her creative touch carried over into her love of cooking and baking. Her kitchen was like a test kitchen, trying new recipes, interested in food science and healthy eating.

She was a gracious hostess, a great conversationalist and had a good sense of humor.

Helga passed away peacefully and comfortably, never alone, surrounded with the love of family on March 9, 2023. She was the last of a generation. She is survived by Gabriele and Bruce Bergmann, Christine and Al Schmidt, her grandchildren Heidi and Peter, Karen, Julianne and

Greg and nine great grandchildren. Helga lived a full life, with the dear Lord always by her side.
