Gene Pacini, 95, of Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1930, in Pennsylvania.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by hard work, deep love for family, and a spirit of adventure. He married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they shared 66 wonderful years until her passing in November 2024.
After proudly serving two years in the U.S. Army, Gene built a long and dedicated career with the railroad, retiring in 1994. Retirement brought him to Colorado, where he could be close to the family who meant the world to him. Gene especially adored his granddaughter, Jennifer Bieber (married to Joe Bieber), and found immense joy in the lives of his great-granddaughters, Emma and Harlow, who were truly his favorite companions.
Throughout his life, Gene embraced the open road, traveling across the country on countless road trips—first with his wife and son, James (married to Diane Pacini), and later with Barbara and Jennifer by his side. He loved working with his hands, whether tinkering with cars, fixing things around the house, tending to his large garden, or enjoying local car shows. He also enjoyed hunting for treasures with his metal detector, collecting coins and precious metals, and he never passed up the chance to enjoy a Wendy’s cheeseburger.
Above all, Gene will be remembered as a man who worked tirelessly, cared deeply, and always put family first. He will be greatly missed and remembered fondly.
Services for Gene will be held on Wednesday, September 17, at Lakeview Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Barbara.
