Ellenora Helena (Adam) Todahl was born in Stutsman County, North Dakota on January 12, 1929 to Edwin and Christina Henke Adam.  She passed away on October 29, 2022 in her home at the age of 93. She attended rural schools in Stutsman County and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1946.  She taught in rural one room schools in Stutsman and Barnes Counties.  Ellenora attended Valley City State College and received a degree in Elementary Education.  She then taught at the Crippled Children’s School (now known as the Anne Carlson Center) in Jamestown and Horace Mann Elementary in Fargo.  She married Oscar Todahl on June 8, 1952.  She then taught school in Montpelier, Esmond and Leeds where her husband was a Northern Pacific Agent Telegrapher.  She purchased and operated the Tastee Freez in Leeds for over 20 years. She was known for her famous caramel rolls and cooking specialty meals for those with dietary restrictions.  In 1987, Oscar and Ellenora relocated to Lake Havasu City, AZ due to Oscar’s health.  He passed away in 1992.  She continued to reside in Lake Havasu and worked at The London Bridge Resort and The Holiday Inn.  In November 2017, she moved to an Independent Living Apartment at Good Samaritan in Windsor, CO to be closer to her daughter.

Ellenora traveled to all 50 states and several foreign countries in her lifetime.  She was a very active lady and attended as many of her Grandchildren’s activities as she was able.  She played pinochle in groups both in Lake Havasu and at Good Samaritan.  She was a woman of strong faith and was very active in the Chapel, serving on committees and attending most of the outings that Good Samaritan activities department offered.  She was always ready to lend a helping hand and assisted many of her neighbors who were younger than she was!  Her energy, generosity and heart defied her age.
