Elaine Propp of Windsor, Colorado passed away on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, at the age of 84 from declining health. Elaine passed peacefully in the care of Pathways Hospice. Elaine was born in Longmont to Henry Brehm and Ida Rosenoff Brehm. She was baptized on Sept 25th in Longmont and confirmed at First Congregational Church in Loveland in April of 1952. She attended various schools in the Longmont, Loveland, Berthoud areas. When the family settled east of Lucerne, she attended Galeton during her high school years. She later returned to school to complete her GED through the University of Northern Colorado. She attended Aims Community College to get her degree in Early Childhood Education. On March 23, 1956, she met the love of her life and life partner Henry who she married on October 6, 1956 in Raton, New Mexico. They met at Heart's corner during a Dutch Hop while Henry was celebrating his 25th birthday. Elaine and her twin sister enjoyed attending Dutch Hops in the area (as Henry stated many times, she and her sister could really dance). They celebrated their 25th and 50th anniversaries with a Dutch Hop with their family and friends and celebrated their 65th anniversary in 2021. They farmed north and south of Windsor raising various crops and livestock. They farmed until the early 80's when they moved to town. They had 3 kids, Sandy (TC) of Texas, Randy and James (Tarita) of Colorado. Followed by seven grandchildren (3 boys and 4 girls) and twelve great-grandchildren (6 boys and 6 girls). Henry and Elaine were involved in the start up of Bethel Lutheran Church at 4th and Walnut in Windsor. Elaine volunteered many hours for the American Legion Post 109 Auxiliary, VFW and Bethel Lutheran Church. At Bethel she was part of the Women's group of the Church, Circle Groups, on the planning committee for the kitchen when the "NEW" Parish Hall was being built and the mock Passover event hosted at the church. She was employed throughout her career in a few different fields. The most common was her passion of cooking, followed by manufacturing and assistance to others. Her passion for cooking led her to assist with many family dinners, American Legion and Church events, Kodak, HP and Windsor Health Care. She worked the assembly line for circuit boards at HP and lenses for 110 camera's at Kodak. She worked as an aid at the Weld County Hospital, Windsor Health Care and Bonell Good Samaritan Center. After getting her degree, she worked as a daycare teacher. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers (Lawrence and Melvin) and 2 sisters (Joan and Winona) and daughter Annette. She is survived by her twin sister Eilene. Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church (located at 4th and Walnut in Windsor) on Saturday, March 25th at 10:30am. Interment will be at Windsor Cemetary next to her husband.
