Doris Meyer (Howe)

June 28, 1925 — December 23, 2020

Doris G. Meyer, 95, of Windsor, passed away Dec. 23, 2020 with her family by her side. She was loved and will be missed.

Doris was born June 28, 1925, in her grandmother’s Fort Collins home to Ann Gideon and Gentry A. Howe. She grew up in the Fort Collins area and graduated from Fort Collins High School. Doris then went to beauty school in Denver and became a hairdresser in Fort Collins. She owned her own salon in Windsor. Her talents with hairstyles and updo’s made many women in the area beautiful for more than 35 years.

In 1946 she married Vernon L. Meyer after he returned from serving four years in the Navy during WWII. They lived in Fort Collins and eventually made their home in Windsor. They enjoyed life and had a lot of fun throughout their marriage. The family has many wonderful memories from boating, camping, fishing, and traveling in the RV.

With Vern’s passing in 2016, she sold her home and lived with her granddaughter Marie and son-in-law Scott and children.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Meredith (Wayne) Moore; granddaughters Marie (Scott) Tometich, Elizabeth (Casey) Bickel; and four great-grandsons, Connor, Layne, Liam and Collin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Church of Windsor, 1020 Walnut St., Windsor, CO 80550, The Windsor Food Pantry, or Pathways Hospice in her name.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Pathways Hospice for taking care of Doris with such loving care and support.
