Dolores and Lloyd Lorensen

Lloyd W. Lorensen passed away April 1, 2024 in Mansfield, Texas at the age of 93. He was born April 9, 1930 in Brush, Colorado to Carl and Edna Lorensen. Lloyd served as full-time pastor to several Lutheran churches in Moorehead Iowa, Colorado Springs Colorado, Dodge City Kansas, Windsor, Greeley, Eaton and Loveland Colorado over his 50-year career.

Dolores (DoDee) Jean Lorensen passed away October 31, 2024 in Mansfield, Texas at the age of 92. She was born on February 26, 1931 in Audubon, Iowa to Christena Burtnett. Dolores was a full-time wife and mother while teaching piano lessons for over 30 years in Iowa, Colorado and Kansas presenting her students in numerous recitals.

Lloyd and DoDee were married for 73 years and never liked to be apart. They married on July 1, 1951 and had four children.

Lloyd and Dolores are survived by their oldest son Mark Lorensen of Shepperton, Australia, daughter Carol Brungardt (Dale) of Oro Valley, AZ and son Paul Lorensen (Sharon) of Mansfield, TX as well as nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. They were preceded in death by their oldest daughter Jean Gilmore and son-in-law Tom Gilmore of Spring Hill, FL.

A joint memorial service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Windsor Colorado. The service begins at 11:00 a.m. MST with a luncheon following the service. Gravesite will be immediately family only. Livestreaming can be viewed by going to youtube.com/@bethellutheran.
