Listen to Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, sister, stepmother, aunt, great-aunt, and cousin, Christine A. Ivins, on November 3rd, 2026, in Windsor, Colorado. Chris was born in Dixon, Illinois, on July 22nd, 1951, to Lyle and Roseann Heinzeroth. Chris was a 1969 graduate of Dixon High School. Chris died on her 53rd Wedding Anniversary in Windsor, Colorado. She married Douglas R. Ivins on November 3rd, 1973, in Sterling, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Doug, as well as her sister Sandra Rountree of Swannannoa, North Carolina, son Zach Ivins and his partner, Maritza Campos of Las Vegas, Nevada, and stepson Mason Ivins and his partner, Tonhu Nguyen of Portland, Oregon, and step-granddaughter Maglyn Ivins of Seattle, Washington. In addition, she is survived by many special cousins, Pat Drew, Kaye Yowell, and the Kirk Family.

Chris had the most beautiful blue eyes and smile and an incredible outgoing personality and sense of humor, many times meeting someone for the first time and instantly gaining a new friend. She had a love for the West, the Rocky Mountains, Wyoming, and Colorado, which were very special places to her and will be where her ashes will be spread, in order to become part of the beauty of those areas.

No services are planned at her request, but the family would appreciate any memories, stories, and photos be sent to her sister Sandy to be put in a remembrance book for Chris' husband, Doug. Please send any to srrountree@bellsouth.net or text to 828-279-5027.
