Callie Bolieau

March 13, 1986 — August 17, 2023

Callie Marie Bolieau, age 37, died on August 17, 2023 at the University of Colorado Hospital in
Aurora, Colorado with so many of her close friends and family at her side. Callie was born in San
Jose, California to Don and Ann (Lien) Bolieau on March 13, 1986. She was the second born of
four children and often identified as the middle child since her younger sisters are twins.
Callie was unapologetically herself and lived life as she wanted. Callie graduated from Rocky
Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2005. She went to the University of Utah and
studied sociology and criminology. She moved home to Colorado shortly after graduating. She
pursued a master’s in psychology at Regis University where she met so many amazing friends,
especially when she studied abroad in Italy, spending her 30
th
birthday in Europe. Callie spent
her professional life working with at-risk youth as a mental health counselor at Cottonwood
treatment facility in Utah and Third Way Center in Denver, Colorado. At TWC, she was known for
being able to connect to “the difficult” kids. Callie was halfway through law school at John
Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia when she came home in November 2022 after being re-
diagnosed with osteosarcoma. One of her favorite professors remembered Callie as “one of my
all-time favorite apprentices.” She was excited to pursue criminal defense law. Callie had a
tremendous impact on so many struggling lives at work and so many others in her personal life.
Throughout all Callie’s adventures, she had a huge group of friends. No matter where she went,
she always made a friend. She loved her girls so much. No matter what. No matter where. No
matter when. Her favorite things were margaritas, concerts, and being with her girls. Her other
favorite people that she loved the most called her “fun Auntie Callie.” These are her eight
nephews: Logen, Hunter, Kayden, Wyatt, Caleb, Jase, Lukkas, and Korbyn. She would often get
them riled up then become frustrated that they were over the top crazy. She loved them fiercely
and they were her whole world!
She was preceded in death by her incredible Grandma Dot, her cherished Grandpa Don,
Grandma Phyllis and her beloved dog, Taffy AKA “Taffers”. Callie is survived by her parents, Don
(Nita) Bolieau of Kansas City, MO; Ann Bolieau of Fort Collins, CO; siblings Derek (Nicole) of
Loveland, CO; Krysten (Larry) of Loveland, CO; Kayla (Robert) of Windsor, CO; Grandpa Chris of
Brigham City, UT; Aunt Janet (Renee) of Brigham City, UT; Uncle Bob (Kathy) of Salt Lake City, UT;
Uncle Dan (Gail) of Little Rock, AR; and cousins Michael of San Francisco, CA and Thomas of Salt
Lake City, UT.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Callie’s name to Make-A-Wish Foundation. A
celebration of life will be held on September 29, 2023 at the Agave Room at the Rio Grande in
Fort Collins. Please RSVP to family if you plan on attending.
