Obituary

Luanne Faye Davison (Helms) passed away on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 in Windsor, CO after a long battle with diabetes and dementia. Luanne was born on December 27, 1952 in Highland Park, MI. She grew up in Berkley, MI where she enjoyed the first 27 years of her life with her parents, siblings, and many friends. She followed in the footsteps of her sister, Corrine, and traveled West to live in the beautiful state of Colorado. Shortly after taking up residence here, she married and had her first baby, Steven John Davison, on October 18, 1981 at Boulder Community Hospital. Two years later, she had her second baby, Stephanie Leigh Fiegel (Davison), on September 17, 1983 at McKee Medical Center.
Raising her two children, spending time with family and friends, and attending church were Luanne’s true joys in life. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, no matter their age. She was especially liked by Steven and Stephanie’s friends, as she had a way of relating to young people that was truly rare and special. There wasn’t a friend of Luanne’s that didn’t feel like a part of her family. Her smile was contagious, and she could make anyone laugh. She had a strong faith in God and was not afraid to share that with anyone she met.
Luanne also had the heart of a caregiver. When her son, Steven, was in a near-fatal accident, she didn’t think twice about putting her life on hold to become his full-time caregiver. There wasn’t anything in this world she wouldn’t do for those she loved. Her beautiful spirit and sense of humor will truly be missed.
Luanne is survived by her children, Steven Davison and Stephanie Fiegel (Davison), son-in-law Steve Fiegel; grandbabies Ike and Dirk Fiegel; sisters Corrine Stewart (Helms) and Nancy Harrell (Helms), brother-in-law Brian Harrell; brother Tim Helms, sister-in-law Sally Helms; nieces Carly Canchola (Stewart) and Lacey Reid (Stewart); great niece Everly Canchola; and many more cousins, nephews, and nieces. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Therin and June Helms. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 AM at Galilee Baptist Church, 2525 Van Buren Court, Loveland, CO. A reception will follow at the same location. You may wear purple in honor of Luanne. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Luanne at Guaranty Bank and Trust Company, 300 E. 29th St, Loveland, CO 80538. Memorial contributions can also be made to Luanne Davison in care of Marks Funeral Service, 9293 Eastman Park Drive, Windsor CO, 80550. Luanne and I grew up together in the sleepy little town Berkley we lived next door to each other. We had so much fun together and a little mischief mixed in but mostly great memories. My favorite memories had to be when we would sleep outside during hot summer nights and sneak out to talk to the boys at the factory on the corner🤫 another fond memory was talking on our tin can phone from her bedroom to my bedroom! She baptized me one day because she worried that I wouldn’t get into heaven oh my. Halloween nights walking all over Berkley and felt so safe, those days were perfect. Walking to school together and telling each other our deepest secrets I’m so lucky to have these memories and especially to have grown up with Luanne you are always with me and will be missed greatly. I know you are in a much better place watching over your family and keeping everyone smiling in heaven. Love you sweet friend, Patti (Magel) Gross💜🙏💜

I am so very sorry that Steven and Stephanie no longer have their mom here on this earth. I hope there is comfort for both of you in knowing she is with Jesus. Luanne was such a special lady. I knew her from Mother Morning Out and spent many happy times with her. I remember how much my boys loved going out to her house SE of Loveland. I have not seen Luanne in years. I used to run into her at King Soopers in the fruits and vegetables. I loved those short intense chats. Luanne always had such bubbly joy even when this life was unkind to her. Her love and dedication to her children was always very obvious in any conversation with her. I know how much joy Steven and Stephanie brought to Luanne. My heart hurts for the family and friends left behind but I love knowing that Luanne is safe and happy in heaven. Toni Dennis

Luanne and I met when we were little girls, growing up in Berkley and going to church together. Our mom's were friends. I think she was my first real friend. Luanne seemed to take all of us who needed a friend into her life and just make friendship a party! She always made our time together so much fun with never-ending "adventures" and surprising events. We laughed a lot!! Luanne brought joy wherever she went and embraced people with so much love and acceptance along her journey in life. She traveled with my family from one side of the United States to the other. Everywhere we went Luanne drew people to her laughter, kindness and that great smile that seemed to throw itself right into your heart. The best part of our friendship is that it is forever-literally forever. We will spend eternity together in Heaven in the presence of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ-God the Father and all of our sweet friends and family who have met LuLu there and enjoy her wonderful smile and joyful laughter. Luanne knew how to play one church hymn on the piano-by heart "Count Your Many Blessings," how appropriate to this day when we remember her life and count our blessings and I should have counted it more, to Thank the Lord for our dear Luanne. Much love, Cindy Harrell

Luanne was always one of my favorite friends! No matter what was going on in her life, on the outside she was always so bubbly & smiling all the time. You couldn't help but be happy when you were with her. I'll never forget the first time she came to our house and our golden retriever licked her earring right out of her ear! I'm so grateful Terry and I were able to visit Luanne several times in the past few years. I'll always treasure her friendship.
