Emma D. Schlotthauer,78, passed peacefully surrounded by her husband, children, grand and great grandchildren Monday, March 2, 2020. She and her husband Everett G. Schlotthauer recently celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary on January 29.

Born in Greeley, Colorado, October 2, 1941, she was the daughter of Herman and Esther (Lutz) Leffler. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1959. She was an operator for the phone company prior to becoming farmer's wife, farmer, mother and homemaker. Together they farmed a 100+ acre farm North of Severance. She was a member of Weld County Farm Bureau, including holding the Title of Women's Committee Chairman, Weld County Young Farmers, Severance 4-H Cake Decorating Leader and St. John's Lutheran Church Sunday School Superintendent. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran and Bethel Lutheran Churches.

She will be remembered for her love for her family, especially doting on her great grandbabies, her willingness to help those in need, her smile and friendly disposition and her love of her kitties, dogs and flowers.

She is survived by her Husband Everett; her children, Duane and Elaine (Kochendorfer) Schlotthauer, Darryl and Robin (Lawrence) Schlotthauer and Julie Schlotthauer; grandchildren Jeremy and Kasey (McCullough) Schlotthauer and their children Lilly, Braxton and Xander, John and Lindsey (Schlotthauer) Burnett and their children Ronan, Waylon and Brynlee Burnett. Olof and Jennifer (Henderson) Bengtson and their children Emma, Maddie, Olivia and Clara, and Shawn Schlotthauer. Sisters Dorthy (Leffler) Oster, Edna (Leffler) Siegrist; and Brother Jim Leffler.

Emma was a neighbor and when she walked by my house for the first time, she asked me if I was the Ehrlich & I told her yes at which point she told me we were related. I'm so sorry that I did not get to know her better, but I pray that she be at peace and that the Lord take care of her.
