It is with great sadness that the family of Elaine Bakel announces her passing after a long illness, on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the age of 81.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Bertha Riedel and brother Sonny. She is survived by her four daughters, Kim Dewey, Marci Palm, Jeni Bakel, Amy Thomas, and their spouses, longtime companion, Tom Whitlock, along with six grandchildren, Dan Grelle, Garrett Dewey, Jason Thomas, Adam Thomas, Tim Bakel-Morgan, Amy Bakel-Morgan and 10 great grandchildren.
Elaine will be forever in our hearts and will be deeply missed by all of us. She has been troubled by illness in the past few years which had been overwhelming for her. She is now at peace which gives great comfort to our family.
A celebration of Elaine's life will be held at 11am, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor, Colorado. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service. A private burial will be held with the immediate family on Friday.
