Obituary for Charla Butler (Ann)

Charla Ann Butler, 68, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2018 at Oro Valley Hospital. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Charles and Reda Long. She graduated high school from Thornton High School and later obtained a BA from Wheaton College in Illinois. She was a semifinalist for teacher of the year in 1995 in Colorado and absolutely loved her job as an elementary school teacher for 23 years in Illinois and Fort Collins, CO.

She enjoyed crafts, reading, traveling, and was a master at hosting parties for family and friends. Charla never met an animal she didn’t love. She will be remembered for her creativity, love for family, sense of humor, and ability to always put others first.

She is survived by her spouse of 42 years, Paul Butler, son Kyle (Melissa), grandson Elijah, and sister Beverly Whitlow. She was predeceased by her son Scott Butler.

Donations in memory of Charla, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the MSA coalition or your favorite local animal shelter.
