Arnold “Butch” Amiel Mattoni, 67, of Nunn, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 27, 2018, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Butch, also known as “Butcherman,” was born June 22, 1951, in Bono, Ohio, to Dominic and Evelyn (Cutcher) Mattoni.
He graduated from Waite High School in Toledo, Ohio. He worked at Libby Glass, the Jeep manufacturing plant, and in industries such as environmental cleanup, including the Exxon Valdez accident in Alaska; a plating company in Arizona; and retired from American Woodmark in Kingman, Ariz.
He married Pamela Johns on Oct. 12, 2013 at the Grand Canyon Caverns in Peach Springs, Ariz.
Butch enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, attending barbeques, and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the E Clampus Vitus (ECV) Historical Men’s Society, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Butch is survived by his wife, Pamela Ann Mattoni; step-children Aileen (Chris Skipper) Frize of Fort Collins, Patrick (Sara) Frize of Wellington; Matthew Frize of Nunn, Robert (Katie) Frize of Nunn, Kathleen Frize of Southern California; siblings Tonda (Mike) Nutt, Joe (Cahty) Mattoni, Starr (Scott) Tabner, John Mattoni, and Flora Tagle, all of Toledo; step-grandchildren Michelle Scoggins, Brandon Scoggins, Devin Scoggins, Zoe Skipper, and Charlotte Frize.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Daniel “Chip” Mattoni and Dominic “Duke” Mattoni.
